Welcome to the
Glasgow Hash House Harriers Web Site. GH3 was founded on 26th August
1985 by Roger McIlroy. We are proud to have been the FIRST Scottish Hash
to publish on
the Web. Glasgow H3 hosted the very successful UK Nash Hash 99,
an event acclaimed by
all who attended. This Web Site will be updated regularly to include our next few run
locations,
any social news or Hash malicious gossip, and details of any events GH3 intend to stage.
Glasgow is truly a great city, and we are sure if you visit us you will want to extend
your stay
in the area. The city is an ideal stepping stone to Loch Lomond, The Trossachs etc so be
sure
to 'check out' some of the links supplied around here.

Glasgow H3 Basic Information
Glasgow Hash House Harriers runs every Monday Night throughout the
year at 7.30 p.m.
from various pubs or places around the City, including some of the nearer satellite towns
and parks. Average pack is circa 20. You do not need to be fit to Hash
with Glasgow.
We have members of all shapes and sizes and welcome new members or guests any time.
We are an active part of the Scottish, UK and World Hashing Scene, and regularly have
joint runs with various other Hashes. Our members travel far and wide to UK, Euro
and InterHash events.
Hashing originated in Kuala Lumpur before the second world war and has now spread to
hundreds of countries. Thousands of Hash kennels have sprung up almost everywhere you
care to think, (and some that you wouldn't). There are loads of web sites which will give
you much more information, try some of the Hash Web Sites indicated over, or for a
magical mystery tour, The Web Ring below.
We have had guests from South Africa, Cairo, Helsinki, USA, Brazil, Syria, Kuwait,
Switzerland, Australia, Norway, Canada, The Netherlands and India in the last few years,
as well as loads of folk from various Scottish and UK Hashes. The run locations for the
next few weeks are listed above. Just turn up on the night, or contact me Barcode by
email.
Hashing is often described as a drinking club with a running problem. Our Monday night
runs are intended to heighten a thirst for beer that should already exist! If you want to
run a race in Scotland, please don't ask me! Save us both
the time and effort and
visit the Scottish Athletics Federation
(SAF) website. You will find all the serious running
you want in there; but if you want to combine your easy jog night with some fun running
.... come to our runs.
The Hash Prayer
Our beer, Which art in barrels, Hallowed be thy drink
Thy will be drunk, at home as it is in the local
Forgive us this day our daily spillage
As we forgive those who spillest against us
And lead us not into the practice of poncey wine tasting
And deliver us from alco-pops
For thine is the Bitter, the Ale and the Lager
Forever and ever; bArMEN.
